SEEM National Energy Management Awards (SNEMA) 2017 were distributed on 25th May 2018 in the evening at New Delhi. The grant function held in the auditorium of Institution of Engineers Hall was attended by many from the energy sector. Mr. Saurabh kumar, Managing Director, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) was the Chief Guest of the award function. Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General of The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI), and a member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change was the guest of Honor. Mr. K. K. Chakarvarti, the Energy Economist who guided the national energy efficiency efforts through BEE was the Special guests. Platinum, Gold and Best Performance awards in various sectors of different categories like industries, facilities, corporates and individuals were conferred on the winners selected by the national jury appointed by SEEM. This has been the 4th version of SNEMA; in the previous years the award functions were held in Gujarat. 54 industries & facilities, a number much higher than that of the previous years, won the awards this time; more than 150 nominations were received by SEEM for SNEMA 2017.

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Bengaluru, Mr. G Rudra Narsimha Rao(TERI), Mr. Jayant M Joshi(Raymond Chhindwara), and Mr. Balan.S (Hyundai) received best performance awards for their energy audit activities.
That all the winners were present to receive the awards proves the relevance and acceptability of SEEM awards. The Institution of Engineers hall was filled by winners and guests. Student volunteers of Delhi Technical university conducted the function with enthusiasm under the guidance of SEEM Delhi Chapter.
The programme started around 6 pm with the welcome speech by Mr. G. Krishnakumar, General Secretary – SEEM. Mr. U. V. Krishna Mohan Rao, President – SEEM delivered the presidential address. Mr. Jayakumar, Chairman – SNEMA 2017, in his address presented the selection process and highlighted the efforts to recognize quality and merit.
Shri. Saurabh Kumar inaugurated the function with planting a Tree and presented the inaugural address. Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, TERI was honored with the Visionary Leadership Award. Special address of Mr. K K Chakarvati followed by the Award distribution. Mr. Satvinder Singh Maan, SEEM Vice president presented the vote of thanks.
