SEEM SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS POWER QUALITY SEMINAR

One day seminar on Power Quality organized by Society of Energy Engineers and Managers (SEEM) in association with Asia Power Quality Initiative (APQI) was held at Kochi on 21st of February, 2018 and proved to be an enriching experience empowering the participants to initiate measures to monitor and manage power quality in their respective organizations.

Dr. V R Kanetkar (APQI Advisor) inaugurated the programme and made the keynote address, Mr. Manas Kumar Kundu ( Director, International Copper Association, India & APQI India Coordinator), Mr. P C Rajan Babu (KITCO Advisor), Mr. G. Krishnakumar (National General Secretary, SEEM), Mr. R Mallikarjuna (Product Head Inc & PQM Division, Atandra Energy Pvt. Ltd), Mr. Sony Jacob ( Power Matrix Solutions Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Gireesh Ramaswami ( Product Manager-Fluke) and Mr. C. Jayaraman (Immediate Past General Secretary, SEEM) were also present. The workshop included technical sessions by PQ resource persons who handled various topics ranging from Reactive power management, Harmonic Issues and Mitigation thereof, PQ Fundamentals & Impact on Industries and Power quality to analyse motor performance.

Participants from public Sector as well as private sector organizations like Cochin Shipyard, Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co.Ltd, Nitta Gelatin India Limited, Steel max, Carborundum Universal Limited, Rubber Park India Ltd, Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE),Trichur Municipal Corporation, Jubilee Mission Hospital participated in the seminar. Student members of SEEM from Adi Shankara Engineering College and Kerala University of Fisheries and Organic Studies (KUFOS) availed the occasion to familiarize with the recent developments in this very contemporary subject of power quality and its mitigation
