SEEM Conclave 2023 – Report

Indian Energy Conclave 2023 held at India Islamic Cultural centre, New Delhi

The Indian Energy Conclave 2023 was organized as part of the SEEM National Energy Management Awards 2021 on 21st September 2022 at the India Islamic Cultural Centre in New Delhi. Approximately 300 energy professionals attended the conclave.

The event commenced with a silent prayer, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr. G. Krishnakumar, General Secretary of SEEM. Mr. Jayakumar, National President of SEEM, then delivered the presidential address and officially inaugurated the event by planting a sapling, joined by other dignitaries. Smt. Vinuta Gopal-Asar and Mr. Rakesh Agarwal, Climate Leader, were among those who felicitated the function. This opening ceremony was followed by the technical sessions.

The first session included three topics presented by distinguished speakers:

Mr. Rohitkumar, Secretary General of the Carbon Markets Association of India, spoke on “Carbon Trading – A Tool for Net Zero.”

Mr. V V Sivakumar, General Manager at NTPC, discussed “Green Hydrogen – A Vehicle for Decarbonisation.”

Mr. Vivek Agarwal, Chief Operating Officer of Godawari Power and Ispat Limited, enlightened us on the topic of “Artist – Innovative Encon Concept.”

A question and answer session followed these presentations, and Mr. Jayakumar Nair, SEEM National President, presented mementos to Mr. Rohitkumar, Mr. V V Sivakumar, and Mr. Vivek Agarwal.

The second session commenced with a presentation by Mr. Hari Balasubramanian, Business Development Director at Janitza Electronics GmbH, who discussed “Energy Monitoring for Efficiency.” Following that, Mr. Shyam Raveendran, Managing Director of Sonel India Private Limited, presented on “Electrical Testing for Safety and Efficiency.” Lastly, Mr. Guruprasad Raju, Senior Manager at Yaskawa India Pvt Ltd, shared insights into “Low Harmonic Regenerative Solutions.” A Q&A session followed these presentations, and Mr. G. Krishnakumar, General Secretary of SEEM, presented mementos to Mr. Hari Balasubramanian, Mr. Shyam Raveendran, and Mr. Guruprasad Raju.

The third session began with a presentation by Mr. K.K. Chakarvarti and Ms. Sanyukta Das Gupta on “Greening Industries: Industrial Decarbonisation – Insights from the IDEEKSHA (ASPIRE Programme).” Following that, Mr. Raj Kapoor, Founder of India Blockchain Alliance, spoke about “Blockchain and Energy Efficiency,” and Mr. Chandra Shekar N S, Former President of ISHRAE, discussed “HVAC Energy Efficiency.” A Q&A session followed these presentations, and Ms. Gayatri Nair, Chief of Jury, presented mementos to Mr. K.K. Chakarvarti, Ms. Sanyukta Das Gupta, Mr. Raj Kapoor, and Mr. Chandra Shekar N S.

In the final session, Mr. Sridhar Chidambaram, Principal Consultant at the Advanced Energy Group, presented on “Smart IoT.” Mr. Amol Kalsekar, Chief Manager at the International Copper Association India, discussed “Electrify Safely with NEC 2023.” Another Q&A session followed these presentations, and Mr. Anurag Bajpai, Joint Secretary of SEEM, presented mementos to Mr. Sridhar Chidambaram and Mr. Amol Kalsekar. Finally, Mr. Anurag Bajpai, Joint Secretary of SEEM, offered the vote of thanks.
